Personality: Pleasent to a point, can be sarcastic, warm hearted, determined, loves music and artwork. Quick at seeing through so-called cons, and people (Especially ones like Peter, and she can hold her own on snarking with him), brave, originally skeptical about the supernatural, but a couple of experiences have broadened her mind-set.
Bio:
Dana Barrett was a cellist in the New York Philharmonic. In 1984, her apartment residence at 55 Central Park West turned out to have a nasty secret. The architect for the building was one Ivo Shandor, who had formed a society of followers who worshipped a Sumerian god named Gozer, a deity of destruction, and created the building as a spiritual summoning place. She noticed a terror dog sighting in her fridge, prompting her to contact the Ghostbusters.
Which was where she met Peter Venkman.
The 'busters helped her with a case, and eventually were able to stop Gozer from ending the world.
She and Peter dated a short time after that, but she dumped him. Mostly since he didn't want to get serious. She married another musician, a violinist named Andre, and bore his son, Oscar. However, the marriage soon crumbled, Andre left for Europe, taking advantage of a job opportunity with another orchestra there. Then a short time later when Oscar was a little over a year old, a manicial magician named Vigo the Carpathian wanted to return the physical realm using Oscar as his conduit.
Once again, the Ghostbusters (who were able to be reformed after being disbanded due to litigation disputes and lawsuits) were able to stop the being, save Oscar, and the city once again.
Now? It's been a few years since, Dana's continuing to raise Oscar, and she and Peter had got back together. More recently he proposed, and she's now five months pregnant with their daughter.
She had wondered about that other place Peter would talk about, the place that seemed to have changed him so much.
You know what they say about curiosty? Watch out for doors, Dana, they could lead you anywhere...
